Last Sunday I won the title of Swiss XCO champion for the third time in a row and the fourth time overall.
On the new course in Crans Montana, where the World Championships will take place in 2025, I definitely lived up to my role as favorite. Already after the start lap, I had a lead of 15 seconds and extended it continuously. In the end, I won by about two and a half minutes ahead of my two teammates Lars Forster and Vital Albin. Our triple was completed by Alessandra Keller with gold in the women’s race and Luke Wiedmann with U23 bronze. A fantastic day for Thömus maxon.
“This jersey simply belongs to me”.
For me it was a very important victory. It means extremely much to me that I could defend this title. I love this jersey and it simply belongs to me. Although my feeling was not really good at the beginning of the race, I rode a super race afterwards and kept my rhythm. It just was a pleasure today on the new track in Crans Montana and I’m looking forward to race a World Cup here in 2024 and the World Championships in 2025.
Home race in Lenzerheide
After the Swiss Championship is before the home World Cup. That means: a short rest and already concentrating on one of the very big highlights of the season. I would be happy to see a lot of you in Lenzerheide and to count on your support.
